How to format your script

It is important to format your script correctly before you send it to us.
The more professional your script looks, the more professional you look.
It also gives you a good indication of how long your script is.
As a rule of thumb a page of correctly formatted script equals a minute of screen / radio time. This is an approximate guide.
The BBC Writers Room has examples of script formats and there are lots of other examples on line.

We except scripts in the following

  1. Final Draft V6, V7 and V8 (but not 5)
  2. Word
  3. Pages
Sorry but we CANNOT accept
  1. Final Draft Writer for  ipad please convert to PDF
  2. Celtx
  3. Page 2 Stage
  4. Five Sprockets
  5. Movie Magic
We will accept single line spacing between dialogue but require at least double line spacing between each character speaking and double line spacing between action and dialogue.
FONTS  - We recommended
  1. Courier
  2. Courier Final Draft
  3. Times New Roman
  4. Ariel

Important - We do not read scripts with fonts smaller than size 12

Before sending us your Script

  1. Number your pages
  2. Put your name and the title of your script in the header so it appears on every page
  3. Include a cover page with your name and the title of your script on it. Do not include this in your page count.
  4. Make a backup copy of your script before sending it to us.  Do not send us your only electronic copy as the one you send us will be annotated with our readers comments
